What Can You Do? A Poem

What can you do when you see someone hurting?
What can you say when you can’t make it better?

When you’ve cried and tried and prayed for their freedom.

When they’ve lost all hope of release.

When their hopes and dreams have been crushed and all that’s left is embers of a broken vision.

When change seems like dust in the wind always fleeting from their grasp.

When their intelligence is blurred under the weight of the abuse.

When fear and anxiety and depression have fogged their lens.

When their independence and their self worth have been beaten to a powder disapating with the softest breeze.

What can you do when you see someone hurting?

What can you say when you can’t make it better?
